ABELARDO COLOMÉ IBARRA

The only "General de Cuerpo Ejercito", known as "el Furry". Veteran of Angola, Bolivia, Argentina. Member of the Buro Politico, Consejo de Estado, Minister of Interior, "Heroe of the Republic". 61 years old. Born in Santiago de Cuba. Raúl Castro's close friend. He was in the II Front with Raúl since 1957.


ÁLVARO LÓPEZ MIERA

Brigadier General. 56 years old. Born in La Habana. Raised in Santiago de Cuba. Specialist in missiles, (BM-21), tanks, infantry. Very close to General Leopoldo Cintra Frís. Veteran of Angola, Etiopia. Studied in Soviet Union's General K.E. Voroshilov Military Academy. Very close to Raúl Castro.


JOAQUIN QUINTAS SOLA

General de División. One of the "4 Jefes del Ejercito" of the Armed Forces. He is in his late sixties. Veteran of Angola. Very close to General de División Ramón Espinosa, and to General Abelardo Colomé Ibarra. He has been Chief of the "Ejercito del Centro". Very close to Raúl Castro.


JUAN ESCALONA REGUERA

General de Brigada. Was born in Santiago de Cuba, 1931. Very close to Vilma Espin and Raúl Castro. Lawyer. He was in the 2nd Front with Raúl Castro. One of the developers of MINFAR. Also wrote the Law for the Servicio Militar obligatorio. He was chief of "Estado Mayor MINFAR". He was the "Fiscal de Causa I".


RAMÓN ESPINOSA MARTÍN

General de División. Born in Camajuani, Las Villas. Seventy years old. Veteran of Angola. Studied in "Academia Superior", Soviet Union, 1977. Sent to Etiopia. Chief of "Ejercito Oriental". Very close to Raúl.


LEOPOLDO CINTRA FRÍAS

General de División. Chief of "Ejercito Occidental". Born in Yara. 66 years old. Studied in military schools in several countries. Veteran of Angola. Very close to Raúl Castro.


ULISES ROSALES DEL TORO

General de División. Was chief of the "Estado Mayor Fuerzas Armadas (MINFAR)". Presently Minister of Sugar Industry. Born in San Fermin, Oriente. 60 years old. Veteran of Argelia, Angola. Military schools in several countries. Very close to Raúl.


MOISES SIO WONG

General de Brigada. 63 years old. Born in Matanzas. Very close to Raúl. Director of INRE ( Instituto Nacional de Reservas Estatales).


FERNANDO VECINO ALEGRET

General de Brigada. 62 years old. Born in Holguin. Studied in Louisiana before Castro. Later in Soviet Union. Minister of Educacion Superior. Veteran of Angola, Vietnam. Very close to Raúl.
